About Fortum Klaipėda

Fortum Klaipėda was established in 2007, when Klaipėdos energija and Fortum Heat Lietuva shareholders made the decision to build a new combined heat and power (CHP) plant in Klaipėda. The primary goals of the established company were to implement the building of the plant and to manage it upon completion.

As of May 2010, Fortum Heat Lietuva owns 95% of shares and Klaipėdos energija the remaining 5%.

Building Permit for CHP Plant in Klaipėda Obtained

At the end of February, 2011, Fortum Klaipėda obtained a building permit for the new CHP  Plant signed by Klaipėda Municipality administration.

Fortum Klaipėda Transferred Remaining Funds to Compensate for Eviction of Lypkiai Inhabitants in Klaipėda

Fortum Klaipėda in compliance with the partnership treaty between Lithuanian Ministry of Economy, Klaipėda City Municipality and Fortum Heat Lietuva has transferred the outstanding balance in the amount of 4,5 million Litas to be used for compensations for land and property that have been taken to be used for society’s needs.
